Hi There, I’m Cheryl!
I am an IT professional and certified project manager. I am a blogger and am married to my husband, Dave. We spend our free time hiking and camping in the summer and cross-country skiing and show shoeing in the winter with our two dogs. In fact, I have added my recipes from my old blog, GFFoodScoop.com back into my blog and will be adding more about our adventures soon.
I started GFFoodScoop.com as a creative outlet and to record my gluten-free recipes for others in my situation and for my children. After I became a certified project manager, I became an active member in ProjectManagement.com and decided to create another blog. Although that blog is no longer active, I joined the Elite Blog Academy and have been searching for a true blogging identity since. Although I enjoyed writing both of my blogs, neither were my passion. I am gluten-free because I have Celiac Disease. It is not a passion but a requirement and often a source of frustration for me, especially when travelling.
Now, as an empty-nester, I want to share my adventures, experiences, recipes and whatever else I can to help other empty-nesters stay fit, eat well and enjoy life to the fullest. However, I am not perfect and my blog will not be about the latest fad diets, or the perfect workout or keeping your home perfectly organized.
Instead I hope to share my own struggles with getting my home organized, now that the kids are gone and there is no one left to mess up all of my efforts (with the exception of my dogs who keep me so busy sweeping my floors and cleaning of the kitchen table after they decided to lay up there when we are away!). I want to share my methods for losing weight as I continually fight the battle of the bulge and I want to share our adventures as we hike, cross country ski, snow shoe and travel. Lastly, I have done some cool things in my home that I want to share to help others create fun spaces in their homes and yards so everyone can enjoy being at home more.
I hope you find my blog informative, entertaining and interesting. Thank you for being here.
